Riisfort ESG report 2023-2024 - Flipbook - Side 21
Water
As we are a wholesale company that primarily supplies
materials and products to the kitchen, furniture and fixtures
industry, water consumption makes up a smaller part of our
overall carbon footprint.
Although water consumption does not have a large impact
on our carbon footprint, we remain conscious of the need to
optimise our resource consumption and continuously look
for opportunities to reduce consumption where possible.
Our operations are mainly focused on distribution and
sales, which means we have a low level of direct water
consumption compared to companies that are more
engaged in production or consumer-related activities.
*The reporting period for water differs slightly from the reporting
period and instead covers 21/04/2023–16/04/2024.
237 m3
As Riisfort's business model does not rely on significant or
seasonally fluctuating levels of water consumption, we estimate
that our water consumption is stable all year round. We therefore
Water consumption
consider it reasonable to use data from a displaced period as any
fluctuations will be minimal.
Waste management
Although waste does not make up a large part of our total
carbon emissions, it is an important part of our focus.
Although we are not directly involved in production, surplus
materials still arise from our warehouse, and we endeavour to
handle these responsibly. Between 87–89% of all waste from
our operations is sent off to be recycled, and this helps to
promote the full utilisation of our resources.

Recycled
We are committed to optimising waste management and we
work continuously to reduce the amount of surplus materials
and to increase the proportion that can be recycled. This is
a part of our overall goal to run a more resource-efficient
business.
