Riisfort ESG report 2023-2024 - Flipbook - Side 30
The Riisfort Foundation
At Riisfort, giving back to society is close to our hearts,
and this commitment has been a part of our business for
many years through the Riisfort Foundation. Through this
foundation, we support research and initiatives that have
the potential to make a real difference to public health. In
2024, the foundation granted almost DKK four million to
research at Aarhus University and Aarhus University Hospital
in areas such as cancer, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's,
fertility treatment, mental health and robot-assisted surgery.
It continues a proud tradition of contributing to important
scientific advances.
Alongside the donations made through the Riisfort
Foundation, Riisfort A/S also supports a number of charitable
causes. This includes making regular contributions to
initiatives such as Knæk Cancer and Danmarks Indsamling,
to which we have donated a total of DKK 40,000 this year. For
three years in a row, we have also involved our employees
in the decision to distribute DKK 25,000 to different
organisations ranging from social aid organisations such as
Blue Cross and the Danish Psychiatric Foundation to nature
conservation initiatives such as the Danish Nature Fund.
This involvement of employees in the donation process
helps to strengthen our sense of community internally and
to create a sense of shared responsibility. When we jointly
choose who we support, then it is not just Riisfort as a
company, but also our employees themselves who play an
active role in making a difference for others.
We are proud of our work through the Riisfort Foundation
and of the other donations that enable us to contribute to
research, health and social causes. It is a core value for us to
be a company that gives back both to our local area and to
society as a whole.
This year, our other donations went to:
Aarhus Valgmenighed/Aabyhøjgaard, which is a part
of the Church of Denmark and runs many different services
for children and young people in the local area.
Blue Cross, which is a social aid organisation that reaches
out to vulnerable children, teenagers and adults – from the
homeless to children of addicts.
The Danish Psychiatric Foundation, which is a private,
illness-combatting organisation that fights to ensure that
all people with mental illness and those at risk are met with
understanding and receive the help and advice they need.
Sport'n'Charity, which is an organisation that helps
children with cancer back to life through physical exercise.
Sjølund Music Festival, which is the world's largest
festival for people with physical and mental disabilities.
The Danish Nature Foundation, which purchases,
protects and restores nature throughout Denmark to
ensure unique natural experiences and perpetual nature
conservation.
The Danish Epilepsy Association, whose overall
purpose is to work to help people with epilepsy to have their
living conditions restricted as little as possible.
Julemærkehjemmene, whose core mission is to give
vulnerable children in Denmark a new start. We're simply
making a modest contribution to the local Christmas Seal
