Climate and the environment
We aim to minimise the climate and environmental impacts
that we cause, both directly and indirectly, and across the
entire value chain. We contribute to SDGs:
Our footprint
As a company that acts as an intermediary between suppliers and customers, our climate footprint is
primarily influenced by the activities we control directly, as well as the indirect emissions originating from our
supply chain.
Our own climate footprint mainly stems from our transport activities and energy consumption. Transport
accounts for a large share of our carbon emissions, as we use our own fleet of lorries to deliver goods to
customers over long distances. This means that we are highly focused on optimising fuel efficiency and on
finding alternative solutions for transportation between us and our suppliers – such as rail transport, for
example. We are also making the necessary investments to begin the gradual replacement of our current
lorry fleet with electric lorries, and this will have a significant impact on our ability to reduce our direct climate
footprint.
When it comes to energy, we are mindful of our consumption of both electricity and district heating. Although
we are not an energy-intensive company in the traditional sense, we still work to optimise our energy
consumption and increase the share of renewable energy that we use.
As a wholesale company, one of our greatest challenges is managing indirect carbon emissions – Scope 3 –
which primarily originate from within our supply chain. This is often where the greatest impacts are found,
and we therefore work to play a part in solutions that can reduce this impact. We know that our influence is
limited, as we represent only a small part of our suppliers’ customer base, but we believe it is important that
we nonetheless contribute where we can.
We are therefore in ongoing dialogue with our existing suppliers to identify alternatives and improve our
choice of materials. At the same time, we are also open to working with new suppliers who can offer
innovative solutions. In this way, we aim to take small, concrete steps that both strengthen our product range
and contribute to a broader transition within the industry.
